  • Abstract
    A novel bridge type FCL (Fault Current Limiter) with single self-turn-off device is proposed in this paper. The topologies and control strategies of the new FCL for single-phase and three-phase power systems are investigated in detail. The advantage of the new FCL includes simplicity in circuit and control method, low cost and high reliability. Simulations based on Psim 6 are carried out. A three-phase experimental model is constructed. Simulation and experiment results proved the validity of the new FCL.
