Abstract
This paper discusses the problem of presenting complex information for operators in process plants as decision support. In particular, the paper concentrates upon a 3D visualisation of previous experiences as support for a new problem situation. Operators do not need more data, they require more information, which means that data is put into a context such as in an advanced information presentation. The presented 3D visualisation makes use of metaphors such as signs to represent cases and a landscape plane. The distance between signs reflects the similarity. The visualisation aims in presenting experiences and in extending the operator´s situation awareness
