Abstract :
To investigate the oxidative damage induced by di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and analyze the possible function of such effects. This study took Esisenia foelide as experimental material to detect the levels of DNA-protein crosslinks (DPC), the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA), and the activity of surperoxide dismutase (SOD). The Esisenia foelide were exposed to DEHP for 2 hours in vivo with the bath exposure technique. DPC coefficient increases along with the concentration of DEHP (0.2 mmol·L-1, 0.4 mmol·L-1, 0.8 mmol·L-1, 1.6 mmol·L-1) rising, and it can cause DPC significantly (p <; 0.01) compared with the control group, but the contents of MDA did not change significantly with the increase of DEHP concentrations compared with the control group (p > 0.05). A decrease in the activities of SOD was observed. Significant changes of SOD activity could be observed in 0.4, 0.8 and 1.6 mmol·L-1 (p <; 0.01) groups. To conclusion, high levels DEHP induced significant oxidative damage, then caused damage to DNA.
