In order to realize application of VSC-HVDC system on offshore wind farm, analyzing the principle and characteristics of VSC-HVDC system, Through its mathematical equivalent circuit, deduced active power and reactive power formulation. Based on the formulation analyzing three basic control mode of inverter. Combined with AC power and traditional HVDC system, analyzing advantaged performance of VSC-HVDC system. From the angle of technology and economy analyzing the feasibility of applicating VSC-HVDC system on offshore wind farm, and studied the relevant engineering cases.
