Abstract :
When subjected to ultrasound activation, microbubbles (1-8 μm) present a fairly complex dynamics. Their behavior can be well modeled by coupled oscillators system. In this study, microbubble surface modes have been investigated through an acousto-mechanical analogy base on coupled pendulums. Observation of parametric vibration modes up to n = 17 for a ring of pendulums excited at frequencies between 1Hz and 4 Hz is presented. The relevance of the use of the pendulums ring for studying microbubble dynamics is discussed.
