Abstract :
Using the unlicensed 60-GHz millimeter-wave band, an antenna array driven by CMOS circuitry enables low-cost multi-gigabit broadband wireless transmission. The CMOS transceiver can consistently achieve data rates up to 3.8 Gb/s for video area network operation. Using beam-search techniques, the antenna arrays steer the beam to avoid line-of-sight blockage.
