Abstract
The controller supports the physical layer of an IEEE 802.11-alike network and was implemented in a mixed-signal ASIC. The digital processing has been implemented with standard libraries. For optimum results the controller uses a maximum-a-posteriori (MAP) detector designed with a mixed analogue-digital approach for simplicity. A prototype chip was tested in order to verify circuit functionality
