Abstract :
In this work a method to generate long X-band pulses, based on stimulated emission of electrons moving in undulator fields, is studied. Note that a FEL operating at microwave frequencies is quite often referred as ubitron. Both the amplifier and the oscillator scheme of ubitron are tested. The experiments reported here represent the demonstration of operability of X-band ubitrons on the base of the accelerator “Saturn”
