Abstract :
The quality of fingerprint image gathered from scanner was affected seriously by small area, range of gray-scale, dryness, wetness and deflection. The paper analyzed exiting detailed regulations, discussed the influence factors to fingerprint quality. A new method was proposed to estimate fingerprint image quality according to edge-minutiaes information. Experimental results show that it can filter unqualified fingerprint image effectively, and it is helpful to raise the efficiency of whole system.
