Abstract :
This paper investigates multi-phase series resonant DC-to-DC converters during stationary operation. The principle working of the converter is described in detail for switching frequencies equal to the resonant frequency. Design rules for all components are derived analytically. Additionally, the converter´s advantages and disadvantages are discussed and the different topologies are compared with each other. Based on these design rules, a 5 kW/100 kHz laboratory prototype of a three-phase topology has been built. The prototype is used to verify the analysis experimentally
