Abstract :
The principles of operation of a decelerating structure of a Chain of Coupled Cavities (CCC) with a plasma filled channel and the main features of the processes of amplification of oscillations and extraction of energy from a plasma waveguide are considered. Realization of a TWT and results of studies of its characteristics are described. An increase in the efficiency and widening of the frequency band under conversion into a plasma regime are shown experimentally. The power level in the CW mode of operation, efficiency and frequency band of the plasma TWT exceed substantially similar parameters of the vacuum TWT. Special attention is given to studies of the parameters which define the quality of amplified signals given by the plasma TWT
