Abstract :
This paper analyzes the robustness and validates the practicability of a novel torque control strategy used with induction motors taking efficiency of dynamic state into account. A new index is defined to evaluate transient efficiency. The strategy combines the method of field oriented control with decoupled control on a synchronous rotating reference frame. For improving efficiency, the torque command in the torque loop is set based on the strategy of optimum slip control and maximum torque per ampere control. Results show that the designed torque controller not only improves the efficiency of the induction motors both in steady and transient states but also provides a good torque response. Simulation and experiment results confirm the validity of the strategy
