Abstract :
Improving administrative efficiency and the level of service has always been one of the priorities in the Taiwan government. Response time and distance are important indicators for evaluating the performance of freeway police. This paper evaluates suitable police patrol patterns under random incident occurrence by simulation. This work collects incident characteristics, including temporal and spatial effects, and type of incident, and applies the Monte Carlo method to generate input data for simulation. This simulation also inputs the eight patrol patterns, including the moving and stationary patterns. The indices are set up as response time, distance, and extra work. This investigation chooses the Taishan platoon precinct for the case study. The information provided in this study would be useful for other traffic enforcement agents.
