Abstract :
Multimedia streaming refers to send and receive time-based media such as audio, video, animation, etc., on the Internet or an intranet in real-time, not by downloading. However, with current multimedia streaming technology, it is hard to develop complex multimedia streaming system. Furthermore, current technology does not support the capability for timely services. We first identify problems in current multimedia streaming technology and propose a real-time multimedia streaming framework to tackle those problems The framework consists of the multimedia stream TMO (MMStream TMO), stream data types, and the MMStream TMO execution engine. We focus on presenting the structure of MMStream TMO that is a specific form of TMO and the modeling of a real-time multimedia streaming system with MMStream TMO. We also illustrate an example of modeling a simple video conferencing system with MMStream TMO to give some insights on the usefulness and modeling power of MMStream TMO
