Abstract :
Location management (LM) as a vital process in every wireless network imposes significant volume of signalling traffic to the network. Different schemes have been proposed to decrease the cost of this signalling direction location management (DBLU) is a method which users update their location whenever they change the direction. The line paging strategy of this method, reduces the amount of paging cost compared to the other methods which use ring-by-ring paging scheme. We propose a new method with a line paging strategy based on mobility and incoming call rates of mobile users. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme has a better performance w.r.t the amount of overhead compared to the conventional methods.
