Abstract
In this paper, a novel modulation technique for voltage source inverter feeding induction motor drives is presented. It is mainly based on a variable frequency technique, whose target is to change the switching frequency on the base of the power modules dead time distortion. Besides, this modulation is combined with the "single switch commutation technique", which allows to almost completely eliminate the blank time imposition during the switching operation. The proposed technique has been implemented by means of a digital modulator and several tests have been performed in order to verify the validity of the proposed modulation technique
