Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a face reconstruction algorithm from CT images based on a spherical cover algorithm. First we present an algorithm to simplify the data points of CT data. Then we use the simplified data to reconstruct 3D face model based on a spherical cover algorithm. We define a function to determine the radii of the covering spheres and then connect the centers of the spheres to reconstruct one 3D face model, which is an entry of our face database. Finally Principal Component Analysis is used to generate a statistical face model. By changing the parameters of the statistical model, a specific face can be deformed from the statistical model. The experimental results have showed great effects compared to other algorithm.
