Abstract
This paper studies the effect of channel estimation in WiMAX system. The channel estimation is based on the principle of pilot-symbol-aided channel estimation (PACE) in frequency domain. The algorithms used here are based on the least squares (LS) and the minimum mean squares error (MMSE) approaches. Furthermore we propose a simple method to reduce the computation complexity of MMSE algorithm significantly which has a desirable performance. In the end, our result will quantitatively demonstrate the effect of LS, MMSE and proposed low complexity MMSE algorithms for uncoded IEEE802.16d standard of WiMAX system.
