Abstract :
Summary form only given. The 21st century grid system has been evolved significantly and complicated due to power industry deregulation, dynamic demand response and emerging renewable energy technologies. Energy storage emerged as an essential component of the 21st century grid system to mitigate the increased uncertainty in the grid system. The presentation will illustrate the XP´s technology backbone to provide real time digital power management and energy storage systems that decouple the rigid grid, creating a more cost effective, reliable and sustainable global energy network. The various potential applications enabled by an advanced battery energy storage system, Xtreme Power´s Dynamic Power Resource (DPR), will be introduced through examples from existing installations.
