Abstract :
We extended the concept of Short-lag Spatial Coherence imaging to matrix arrays and used it to improve the quality of vessel images. Specifically, we collected signals from the individual channels of a clinical matrix array while imaging a flow phantom and the human livers in vivo. We used this data to reconstruct matched B-mode and SLSC volumes. 2-D and 3-D images created from the SLSC volumes showed suppressed clutter and better visibility of vessels compared to their B-mode counterparts. Vessel contrast and CNR were computed for the volumes using concurrently acquired Doppler data as a gold standard for vessel visualization.
