  • Abstract
Cooperative communication has been recently paid much attention as an efficient way to combat the channel impairments by providing diversity. Incremental redundancy cooperative coding (IRCC) is a kind of cooperative diversity technique that avoids repetition coding. In this paper, we study bit error rate (BER) and block error rate (BLER) performance of IRCC using complementary punctured convolutional (CPC) codes in Nakagami fading channels. We consider effects of interuser channel quality and correlation among uplink channels on the system performance. We also investigate the performance of the aforementioned system using multiple antennas in the receiver. Simulation results show that using IRCC results in 7 dB improvement in case of having one antenna in the receiver at BER of 3times10-4.
