  • Abstract
In order to meet the open and networked needs of NC technology, a new STEP-NC standard has become the latest study direction. Based on the differences between the traditional NC procedure and STEP-NC, the paper provides a new network collaborative manufacturing, which includes two parts, product design and manufacturing process that are set to be monitored. Consequently, space restrictions are broken through in product design and manufacturing process. The paper also studies the corresponding relations between EXPRESS and XML and brings self-learning mechanism into the key part-EXPRESS/XML transformation mechanism by detailed instances. The mechanism of EXPRESS/XML transformation includes writing module, transformation module, correcting module and setting up XML-Schema, which is stored it in network database server by using self-learning mechanism. In this way, the study finally attains the aim of shorting the development period, increasing efficiency, extending the utilization of STEP-NC in networked manufacturing. This study offers new insights for data transformation in network collaborative manufacturing and expands the application of STEP-NC in networked manufacturing.
