Abstract :
Application of multiple has attracted many attentions due to their high rate and high. Multiple antennas have a practical drawback, multiple antennas require more radio frequency (RF) chains and it results in higher computational complexity and cost. Besides, in many applications such as the mobile sets we have a limitation of array size to place multiple antennas. This limitation results in mutual coupling and correlation. For mitigating the some of the drawbacks, it has been proposed to use antenna subset selection where the best subset of antennas is selected to give better performance in SNR or capacity metrics. To obtain the exact performance of MIMO systems, the mutual coupling and correlation should be considered in MIMO system. In this paper, we propose a suboptimal antenna subset selection based on mutual coupling and correlation to reduce the computational complexity of these systems while has insignificant performance loss.
