Abstract :
Combined the double-layer evolution structure of cultural algorithm with local search performance of particle swarm optimization, a new cultural particle swarm optimization algorithm with feedback mechanism is proposed to solve economic load dispatch (ELD) problems in power system. To keep the particle diversity of the population space, PID controller is designed to control evolution velocity weight of the particle according to its current fitness value. An ELD problem is employed to valid the efficiency and the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
