Abstract :
The main purpose of this paper is to generalize axis tracking drive type of 8~10 diameter class ground-based/infrared telescopes which already existed and will soon complete in the world, and to summarize 30~100 diameter class extremely telescopes which was pre-researching, and to analyze the development trend of future giant telescopes under construction. Tracking platform is to reduce the cogging torque and decrease torque ripple through motor optimization design and control modes.
