Abstract :
The conventional load flow methods for transmission systems could not be utilized for distribution systems, due to their especial characteristics. If methods like Newton-Raphson and fast-decoupled are used for distribution systems, the probability of their convergence would be low. Therefore, due to inherent characteristics of distribution systems, it is essential to develop the distribution version of the load flow methods. One of the applications of distribution load flow methods is in the design process, at either MV or LV level. In the design stage both the present magnitudes of the loads and their growth should be considered. This paper presents a load flow method for distribution network, which can handle both present magnitudes and the growth of the loads.
