Abstract :
In this paper, a building energy consumption monitoring system based on WSN and Ethernet for energy efficiency of public buildings in colleges and universities is presented. A ZigBee core module is embedded in the field power measurement in buildings, and every field device can access WSN at low cost easily. In this monitoring system, a gateway based on Ethernet and ZigBee, which also acts as coordinator, is designed, and all field power measurement can access campus networks. The LabVIEW is used for HMI development and database. Web service is enabled in LabVIEW, and a web server is embedded in each gateway, and all computers can browse the information over Ethernet. The system architecture is introduced at first. Following that, the designs for ZigBee core module and gateway are introduced, and the HMI is presented.
