Abstract :
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) not only recognizes the impending problem of the lack of electrical engineers, but is taking a number of steps to grow the next generation of engineers. SEL appreciates the fact that a career in electrical engineering starts with getting students interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers, so we are tending to those interests by providing K-12 students tours of the manufacturing site; providing funding for science fairs, science camps, and robotics challenge teams; providing funds and resources for local middle and high schools; and helping to fund a local science center.
