Abstract :
This paper describes the technical procedures for establishment and characterization of a traceable AC voltage source at National Institute for Standards (NIS), Egypt. This accurate device was established to cover ranges from 10 mV to 500 mV at frequencies up to 20 kHz. The device was entirely implemented in NIS as a part of upgrading process for the calibration capabilities of the AC functions. These capabilities include the accurate calibration of the highly precise digital multimeters and multifunction calibrators. The construction of the design as well as its characteristics is presented in this paper. A new software using Lab-View program was prepared to drive the practical setup of the measuring system. A proposed modeling of this design is also performed and subjected for electrical simulation to compare between the practical and the theoretical results. The associated expanded uncertainty of the gathering results is also reported.
