Abstract
The key step to realize smart home is to integrate the network into the house infrastructure. This article compares the generic networks, and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of traditional field bus and wireless networking. Combined with the characteristic of home network, this article proposes a networking project using power line carrier technology. This networking project uses a confirmed communication without connection. The communication protocol includes three layers: physical layer, data link layer and application layer focusing on the data frame format in data link layer and the process of networking communication. The meritorious feature of the project is that there is no need to re-wire. It is convenient for nodes to join and depart from the network. The experiment shows that the network has a great reliability and is accessible to general home network.
