Abstract :
This paper discusses subsynchronous phenomena as related to wind turbine generators in the vicinity of series compensated transmission systems. Brief discussions of the applicable terminology, the phenomena that can be experienced by different wind turbine types, possible evaluation methods and potential mitigation options are presented.
