Abstract :
In this paper, a combined source adaptive and channel optimised vector quantisation algorithm (CSACOVQ) is designed for a Rayleigh channel, modelled by a finite-state Markov channel. The application of the COVQ algorithm in this type of channel is also derived. Simulation results for both methods demonstrate a performance improvement when using the CSACOVQ technique
