            Abstract :
This study aimed to study the immune activity of glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) of streptococcus suis serotype 2 and detect its activity. METHODS: The GDH gene was cloned and sequenced. Recombinant GDH protein was expressed in a prokaryotic expression system and purified by affinity chromatography. Immunocompetenc of the resulting protein was analyzed by western blotting with anti-GDH monoclonal antibody. RESULTS: The fusion protein was efficiently expressed. Western blotting analysis confirmed that the resulting protein was immunogenic. CONCLUSIONS: The GDH gene of S.suis 2 was successfully cloned and the high expressed, which facilitated the further studies on the development of immunological detection and vaccine design.
