Abstract :
In the view of the situation that the impact on the power analysis attacks is little studied, the impact of the clock frequency is discussed and analysed in this paper. The power trace is the object that is studied by the power analysis attacks. The clock frequency has impact on the data dependency characteristics and the operation dependency characteristics of the power trace by influencing the number of the switching noise. Therefore the clock frequency has further impact on the power analysis attacks. Based on observing and analysing the real measure power curve that is got through measuring the security chip in different clock frequency , it is concluded in the paper that the higher the clock frequency is, the more the switching noise is, and the greater does the data dependency characteristics and the operation dependency characteristics of the power trace changes. So for the power analysis attacks, the suitable and relatively low clock frequency is needed in the actual experiment.
