Abstract :
Providing clean, efficient and reliable energy to the masses is currently the main focus of the energy market and more so for the rural areas. Sudden increase of oil prices, arranging cheap energy supply for the rural households is a challenge which should be addressed at the government and industrial levels. The paper focuses on how energy can be extracted from hybrid concentrating solar power with biomass and used for rural electrification in Lodwar Kenya. In Kenya about 50% of the people who live in the rural areas do not have electricity and mostly rely on traditional biomass.
