Abstract :
Continuous changes in business processes due to market globalization calls for BPR to be frequently invoked within all industry activities; among these, the assessment of production through enterprise reports is fundamental to know whether and how the main goal (the manufacturing of products) is being accomplished. In this paper we present an effective classification of enterprise reports within the ST Microelectronics industries. The classification aims at identifying (1) unused and duplicated reports to be removed, (2) similar reports to be integrated into a single one, (3) reports with given characteristics (scheduling time, associated to specific production models and so on) to speed-up the search among existing reports. Classification is essential to revise the current (huge) set of reports and also to assist CAM operators during reports creation and modification, thus improving both the effectiveness and the efficiency of reports management.
