Title :
HMG´s Unified Incident Reporting and Alert Scheme
Abstract :
The Unified Incident Reporting and Alert Scheme (UNIRAS) aims to provide information which will help to maintain the security of official IT systems and make best of use of limited resources by highlighting those IT security problems which should be addressed as a matter of priority. Since 1990 UNIRAS has tracked developments in IT security and identified numerous weaknesses and vulnerabilities in computer systems. Where possible it has promulgated suitable fixes and solutions to its customers in the form of IT security alerts and briefings. General trends and statistics on IT security incidents, which have occurred during the year, are included in the UNIRAS Annual Report. During the last few years UNIRAS customers have responded well to changing trends in IT security by implementing cost effective solutions which have maintained the confidentiality, integrity and availability of their computer systems. But there is no room for complacency because new threats to IT systems are constantly appearing
