Abstract
Merging MPLS and Multicast technologies is a valuable and hard issue. In this paper, presenting and analyzing a mechanism of AERM (Active Edge Routers Multicast) in MPLS environment. Setting up active ideal multicast tree by a mechanism of APM (Active and passive management), which avoids network bottleneck happening and reduces the forwarding states of the middle LSRs (Label switching routers) in Multicast Tree. It can improve the scalability of MPLS.
