Abstract :
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) containslarge number of low cost, low power and tiny sensor nodes that are handle the complex functionalities, the network require the energy to enhance the network lifetime. Many protocols are proposed to reduce energy consumption and increase the network lifetime. In HEER protocol, Cluster Head selection is based on the ratio of high energy of node and low energy of the network. Moreover, to conserve more energy, HEER has also utilized the Hard Threshold and Soft Threshold. But HEER does not use the inter cluster data aggregation, it may causes flooding of the data which consequences in maximum energy consumption. So to overcome this problem we have proposed a relay node based HEER protocol to overcome the flooding issue at base station. Relay node based HEER has same features as the existing HEER has but has better inter cluster data aggregation at relay node. Therefore relay node based data aggregation can easily handle the problem of flooding in HEER at base station efficiently.
