Abstract :
Design of a simple isolated power supply for driving of series connected IGBT is very interested. In this paper a current source SMPS is designed for driving of series connected IGBTs, which is used in a fast high voltage switch. Good isolation and simple implementation are the advantages of this power supply. Also it can be used for different number of drivers easily. Against the conventional switching power supply, the inductor energy equations are used to design the transformerpsilas. The designed prototype including of 12 series connected IGBT with rated power of 2W (for each driver) is simulated with SPICE and implemented. The simulation and experimental results verify this approach.
