Abstract :
Focussing on the receiver aspects, this paper considers the challenge of implementing the physical layer chip-rate signal processing of 3G standards, such as UMTS and cdma2000. Specifically, the particular issues involved in the design and implementation of chip-rate algorithms are illustrated by considering the specification and performance of a digital automatic gain control (AGC) suitable for a wideband CDMA (WCDMA) signal
