Abstract :
A compact (25.4mm × 25.4mm) coplanar waveguide fed dual band antenna for GSM/Wi-Fi/ WLAN applications is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna has a simple structure which consists of two asymmetric stepped strips, which is printed on a commercially cheap FR4 substrate. It exhibits dualband operations in the range of 1.2-1.9GHz and 3.5-6GHz with satisfactory radiation properties. The threshold 10-dB return loss bandwidth of the antenna at low-band is 700MHz and high band is 3500MHz. The antenna displays a stable radiation pattern and a moderately high gain of around 1-5 dB in the useful band.
