Author :
Payne, Kenneth Patrick ; Kamruzzman, Joarder
Abstract :
This paper examines a legal portal which encompasses all information from the start of a matter to its completion and which also includes workflows of information and integration to application databases. It also presents a solution for a legal portal system (LPS) that manages the production and storage of documents, e-mails, legal precedent, financials and case management, with a collaborative matter centric view of all information. The solution incorporates an infrastructure which is the foundation for a complete LPS that offers interoperability supplied by utilising microsoft share point server 2007 and .NET technologies. The .NET allowed for the development of Web services, through extensible Mark-up Language (XML) and the inclusion of InfoPath forms and workflows created within BizTalk With a Web services framework and incorporating the standards of SOAP and XML, the LPS demonstrates the benefits of a total .NET environment and the integration of multiple components.
