Abstract :
This document presents two methods to reduce the reactive power at converter topology level and control level respectively. This study has been performed to decrease the total reactive power for ITER Tokamak to reduce the overvoltage and avoid low-frequency resonant caused by the fast and large reactive power variation within 20 ms. The detailed operation and its reactive power reduction of these two methods has been presented and compared.
