Abstract
A dual level leaky bucket traffic shaper (DLLBTS) architecture for the edge nodes of differentiated services networks is proposed. It can guarantee not only the class-based service level agreement (SLA), but also the fair resources sharing among flows belonging to the same class. In order to make the implementation practical, we proposed a simplified DLLBTS architecture. This simplified scheme can achieve the goal of DLLBTS with a low implementation complexity so that it can be implemented with the current VLSI technology
