Abstract :
The Manweb region of the UK is blessed with a wide range of renewable sources of energy. From wind and water power in Mid and North Wales through to landfill gas and waste burning schemes in the urban centres. It is similarly rich in industries who develop combined heat and power schemes. This paper describes some representative generation schemes and shows how Manweb has tackled connection issues. The authors hope to show that they have always striven to give the generator the `least cost´ connection, given network constraints
