Abstract :
A number of approaches have been used recently for image retrieval using color features. Use of orthogonal moments instead of normal moments and histograms has been found to be more effective. We propose a scheme to further improve the efficiency by using the most differentiating moments heuristically. The performance for moments calculated using four different orthogonal polynomials is compared and a study is conducted to see if the four types of moments can be used together.
