Abstract :
The latest results of a low-coherence grating characterisation system have been presented. Two different configurations have been demonstrated, showing high accuracy measurements. The temporal resolution has been compared with the theoretically predicted value and also with that of systems using lasers. A novel 3 dimensional interpretation of a grating has been presented and the required grating parameters have been obtained from this plot. The low-coherence system appears an alternative to systems using lasers, each having their own particular advantages and disadvantages
