Abstract :
People are increasingly trading online instead of using full-service brokerages in the Taiwanese stock market. Many individual investors often make emotional and irrational investment decisions. This is the first nationwide study and the largest population-based study to associate individual investor sentiment changes in the Taiwanese stock market with subsequent acute coronary syndrome (ACS) events, with particular focus on women and the middle-aged population. The research applied an autoregressive model to examine the relationship between ACS incidence and BSI indicators. ACS incidence decreased when the BSI index increased (p=0.008) with an estimate of -30.9. The effect of BSI changes on ACS was stratified by sex and age, and was only significant in women and those aged 55-64 years. In conclusion, the incidence of ACS rose as the BSI index fell.
