Abstract
The visual evaluation of an original color image and the assessment of the degree to which that image is matched in photomechanical or electronic reproduction is defined as color quality appraisal. This is subjective since it relies on the judgments of color technicians with different perceptions of color and its component qualities. We propose a model where a fuzzy set of quality factors is introduced and a numerical quality value calculated. This measure is compared to an acceptable quality value experimentally established for particular customers and printing processes. The developed model reduces the amount of rework
